The overall vision of the project is to “contribute through the Forest Department towards the conservation of nature for healthier ecosystems and happier communities”.
Vision/Goal shall be reached through the following three main objectives:
* Developing participatory Sustainable Forest and Biodiversity management under changing climatic conditions.
* Improving the livelihoods of Forest dependent communities through inclusive (collective and individual) support.
* Strengthening the Forest department to better fulfill its mission.
FACILITATION Nameri-eco camp, Hatigate was inaugurated on 12 July 2025. Nameri ecotourism facilities are already developed and operational, online booking and tourist activities are being streamlined. Pobitora- Infrastructure of Nature interpretation centre at Pobitora WL Sanctuary completed. Dibrugarh- A community-run eco-facility near Joypur Forest IB integrates cottages, dining, and nature-based activities such as trekking, boating, birdwatching, and wildlife safaris. Goalpara- Incorporates a capacity-first model, training communities in hospitality and nature-based services alongside an Interpretation Centre near Urpad Beel. North Kamrup- The focus is on urban–nature integration through a riverside eco-park and cafeteria overlooking the Brahmaputra, nurturing everyday engagement with forests and wetlands. Golapara and North Kamrup- work is under progress. SOP preparation for all ecotourism sites is in process.
