Improve forest and biodiversity management and promote alternative livelihoods among forest-fringe communities while building climate resilience

PROJECT VISION AND OBJECTIVES

The overall vision of the project is to “contribute through the Forest Department towards the conservation of nature for healthier ecosystems and happier communities”.

Vision/Goal shall be reached through the following three main objectives:

* Developing participatory Sustainable Forest and Biodiversity management under changing climatic conditions.

* Improving the livelihoods of Forest dependent communities through inclusive (collective and individual) support.

* Strengthening the Forest department to better fulfill its mission.

Ecotourism site development under APFBC Project

 

FACILITATION
Nameri-eco camp, Hatigate was inaugurated on 12 July 2025.
Nameri- Facilities are already developed, currently operations, online booking and                  tourist activities are being streamlined.
Pobitora- Foundational work is done and rest is under construction.
Dibrugarh, Golapara and North Kamrup- work is under progress.
SOP preparation for all ecotourism sites is in process.
